How many movies are there in Terminator series?

The Terminator series is one of the most popular sci-fi movie series in the cinema history. Main title is about war between Skynet armies and John Connor’s resistance forces. Skynet forces are capable to face the world to nuclear holocaust and some members of it may make time travel. All movies of series became successful but second movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day went into “Best movies of all time” list. Movies are directed by James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger starred. First movie didn’t make any affect and no one was waiting so high commercial or critical success but after two weeks on vision, movie hit the time and became a classic. How many movies are there in Terminator series?

 

There are four movies on the Terminator series. They are The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation.
First movie The Terminator is released on 1984. Movie is directed by James Cameron and starred by Arnold Schwarzenegger. First movie is about two beings coming from future to 1984. One of them is Terminator and other is Kyle Reese. The Terminator is a cyborg and killing machine comes to past for killing Sarah Connor. Kyle Reese is a human resistance soldier come to save Sarah. Movie became popular also with The Terminator’s “I’ll be back” catch phrase. Movie also took good reviews from Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is released on 1991 as a sequel to The Terminator. Movie’s main title is about Sarah Connor, John and Terminator’s story. A new, liquid metal, shapeshifting T-1000 model Terminator is sent to kill Sarah Connor. Also a less advanced Terminator comes to past to save Sarah and John because John will be the leader of human resistance in future. Movie became a classic in time and also became a popular culture icon. It was a new era on computer-generated imagery in movies. It earned four Academy Awards. Movie’s DVD disc is released on August 1997. After this release, Terminator 2: Judgment Day: Special Edition cut is released and it was including unseen footage. Also movie is released in 1080p WMV-HD format in The Extreme DVD. Also Blu-ray versions with 1080p video quality and 5.1 DTS sound are released.

The third movie of series Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is released on 2003. Movie is directed by Jonathan Mostow. Movie is about John Connor and Terminator T-X send to kill him from future. Skynet can’t kill Sarah Connor and Connor’s son John is born. T-X accidentally finds John and started to trace. Terminator 3 couldn’t achieve to success of first two movies and made $433 million worldwide gross while second movie of series made $519 million. Some important writers ranked movie as “B movie”. Also some games and other merchandising of movie are released but they couldn’t be successful. Writers claimed that Cameron didn’t want to direct film and also Schwarzenegger didn’t accept the role in first offer. But then Schwarzenegger accepted the movie for $30 million.

Terminator 4 is released by the Terminator Salvation name in 2009. Sam Worthington and Christian Bale starred on movie. Salvation’s main title is about the war on 2018. Movie faced some preproduction problems in 2008 and The Halcyon Company took the rights then. Movie released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
After Terminator 4 started a new trilogy, all people taught that there will be Terminator 5 soon. But The Halcyon Company is now on legal problems and movie is waiting. Also a television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is broadcast on Fox but it couldn’t see season three.
