How many people are getting colorectal cancer every year?

Colorectal cancer is one of the most deadly cancers in the world. It’s also known as bowel cancer. Uncontrolled cell growing in colon or rectum causes colorectal cancer. Also it’s possible to see it in appendix. Rectal bleeding is the main symptom of cancer. Also anemia and losing weight are possible symptoms. In the first era of 1900s scientists believed that colorectal cancer is causing by genetics but later researches showed that biggest cause of colorectal cancer are lifestyle and age. Mostly colorectal cancer events start on 50.

Main causes of colorectal cancer are fat based diet, alcohol and red meat. Obesity and smoking is also effective. Less physical exercise is increasing the risk.

Adenocarcinoma is the most common colon cancer type. %95 of all colon cancer is Adenocarcinoma. Also it’s possible to see squamous cell carcinoma and lymphoma.

Preventing from colon cancer is possible. The main way is changing life style with more physical activity. Also taking Vitamin D is lowering the colon cancer risk.

Every year 1.23 million new people are diagnosing as colon cancer and 608,000 of them are dying.
